Obligitory Bio: Born in 1965 stared playing piano at age six but switched to guitar after hearing Van Halen I. Upon scrutinizing the music Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and the Dixie Dregs, Rob discovered a Joe Pass record that totally turned his head around and turned his interest towards bebop and classical forms of music as well as blues and funk. Later infuences include: Pat Metheny, John Scofield, John McLaughlin, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steps Ahead, Chick Corea, Weather Report, Allan Holdsworth, Peter Sprague and Scott Hendersen and Minny Moore. Rob moved from Colorado to California in 1982 where he studied music theory and jazz improvisation at Solano and Chabot Community Colleges. In 1987 he attended GIT in Hollywood where he studied with a variety of incredible musicians including: Scott Hendersen, Joe Diorio, Ron Echete, Peter Sprague, Bob Magnuson, and Gary Willis. After realizing what a dump Hollywood is, Rob moved to the San Francisco Bay area where he has enjoyed a busy work schedule . . . and cleaner air.
